DESIGN NATURE SELECTION

DNS is a non-profit organization established in 2002. We spread environmentally conscious thinking, utilisation of alternative and renewable energy sources through art, various social events and direct street action. Our aim is to inspire, catalyze people to feel responsibility for our common natural, cultural heritage and to become active participant of this social movement. In our projects we use recycled and natural materials, we work together with children, disabled people and numerous volunters.     Pilleko (pillestone) is a new composit building material developed by DNS-group.  The base of Pillekő is designed from recyled PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) bottles which are covered with a special mix of minerals. The result is a lightweight, water- and frostproof structure which is also resistant to physical impact. This green innovative technology can be widely used to build outdoor furnitures, organic shaped modules. As we have alredy made several streetfurnitures througouth the country.

What is our project?
Our aim is to create a socio-environmental movement through this new architectural possibility. Today the highest priority is to reduce the waste of our households, companies and cities, and to treat them in a clean way. Our concept is to invite people to participate in the developpent of their own environnement, through raising ecological awareness and emphasizing the importance of creative communities.

Pillekő Project is now active in two main fields:
- cooperation with educational institutions, companies designing Pillekő together from PET bottles collected by the participants. Our events have multiple benefits: spreading ecological approach, art therapy and community building effects.
- new concept on public spaces, cooperation with municipalities to design and build interactive, sustainable community spaces to demonstrate ecological issues.

How to participate?

We are continously looking for partners, schools, organisations, NGOs, and local governments to create new partnerships in order to reach a growing number of people. We are happy to work with any like-minded people, teachers, urbanists, community builders sharing the same vision.
